The Philadelphia Flyers and the Pittsburgh Penguins played in Game 3 of their first round Stanley Cup Playoff Series in Philadelphia at the Wells Fargo Center.  The Flyers entered the game with a two games to zero lead in the series.  The Flyers fans came to Game 3 of this series totally prepared for this game and they should the Penguins what they had.  This was an unbelieveable crowd, who was in a sea of orange and were very loud throughout the game.  The Flyers took every shot the Penguins could give them on Sunday including every cheap shot, dirty plays, and punches.  The Penguins totally lost their composure in this game and the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Penguins in Game 3 to take a commanding three games to none lead in the series, with an 8-4 victory.

Danny Briere, Maxime Talbot, and Matt Reid each had two goals a piece in Game 3 as the Flyers again defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins who are the big favorites and in many NHL experts the team to beat for the Stanley Cup.  The Philadelphia Flyers now have total control of this best-of-seven series with a three games to none lead and could sweep and finish off the Penguins on Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia in Game 4.

There have only been three teams in the history of the NHL that have ever overcome a three games to none deficit and come back and win the series.  The 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs, 1975 New York Islanders, and of course the 2012 Philadelphia Flyers, who did it against the Boston Bruins.

The Philadelphia Flyers again fell behind in this game in the first period.  It is something this season in which the Flyers have been accustomed to this season and that is falling behind early in games and well coming back.  The Penguins Jordan Staal scored the first goal in the game beating the Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov at 3:52 of the first period.

Well in Game 3 the Flyers came totally alive in the first period of this game.  The Flyers scored three straight goals, which included two by Danny Briere.  Briere is again becoming anther force in the playoffs in yet again another series.  He has made a total impact in this series thus far.  The Flyers led at the end of the first period, 4-2.  A position that this Philadelphia Flyers team is really not used to.  They have been so used to fighting from behind after the first period in games this season and the start of this series as well.

In the second period the Pittsburgh Penguins got two goals by James Neal and Jordan Staal but the Flyers responded with goals by Matt Read and Wayne Simmonds.

In the third period the Pittsburgh Penguins pulled Fleury from the nets and replaced him with Brent Johnson.  The Flyers just kept coming at the Penguins and Johnson could not stop it.  Claude Giroux gust 27 seconds into the third period scored and the Flyers had total control of the game.

The Pittsburgh Penguins led by their best player Sidney Crosby really showed their true colors and character.  They were taken out of their game by a Flyers team that is playing well and is really well coached and prepared for the Pittsburgh Penguins.  The Penguins have not been able to figure out or make the proper adjustments and they are looking at going home for the summer very quickly.  The Flyers could with one more victory on Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia in Game 4 send the Penguins home a packing in a series sweep.
